Marimekko Chart

Definition

A Marimekko Chart shows data of categories and their subcategories. It could give information about the market. Each bar in this chart can be of different segments. The greater the bar, the higher will be the value of the segment.

Why do you need it?

Using this chart, we can choose the maximum block and understand the pattern of your data. It has a disadvantage that it is hard to understand as there is no same base or top line, which makes it confusing.

What kind of data you can visualize with it?

If you have 2 dimension data, then it could be beneficial. Assume you have a dataset of financial data of the different regions of business. It helps to compare different entities using blocks. It could be helpful to analyze in which region the business is in progress.
