Tally Chart

Definition

A tally chart is a way of representing data using marks. These marks are the occurrences, frequency, or total number of a category. These marks are like lines for every count, but every 5th count is a line that crosses the preceding four lines diagonally.

Why do you need it?

Tally charts make it easy to distribute different categories of data by count. On the other hand, it makes counting easy to a specific category. This makes the chart effective in understanding and saves time.

What kind of data you can visualize with it?

Assume you have to distribute a management work among workers, then you can call the task out, and ask the workers to tell who can do it better. For every ready worker for a task, draw a line in that task category. In the end, you can see the count of workers assigned to every task.
