Definition
A Non-ribbon chord diagram is a shrink version of the chord diagram in which we show only the nodes and the lines. The lines represent the relationship between the nodes. This provides more value to the connections between them. It doesn’t show the connection values as a chord diagram in a flow. Its main aim is to attain a focus on the connections.
Why do you need it?
When we want to display the relationship between too much data that has categories in the form of different nodes, then we use a Non-ribbon chord diagram. The data is basically arranged around a circle with the connections between the points.
What kind of data you can visualize with it?
Data with relationships is best suited for this diagram. If you have different countries with their import and export to other countries in your dataset, then this diagram could be an alternative. The connections in this diagram will show the import and export between the two countries.
